Dog Days!

Diary of a wimpy kid is about a kid named Greg who wants to be popular at school. That’s going to be hard at the rate he’s going. Will he ever be popular?
I like this book because of all the trouble that Rodrick gets his brother Greg in. Like once Rodrick was going to hurt Greg, so Greg ran to his room locked the door. Unfortunately, he had to use the restroom. Rodrick left his shoes in front of the crack under Greg’s door, so he thought he was waiting for him. Greg gets so desperate he finally makes a break for it and opens the door. Rodrick had left his shoes but he wasn’t there. When Greg runs to the restroom Rodrick was in the shower and scared him. Greg was so frightened he peed on Rodrick.
If you like books that are funny and slightly inappropriate, you love this book. I give Diary of a Wimpy Kid four paws.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing!

This book is about a kid named Peter. Fudge, his younger brother, ruins everything. Peter can’t even own a turtle without Fudge eating it. Will Fudge ever grow up?
I loved this book. It has some sarcasm, and, even though Peter is very serious, the book is really funny. For example, when Peter was working on his project, he left his poster on the floor. Fudge walked in and scribbled all over his assignment. Each page is a new adventure!
If you are looking for a funny read, this is the book for you. I give it four paws!

Dork Diaries

Dork Diaries is a diary about a girl named Nikki (Nick-ee) and her life in her NEW middle school. All she wants is to have a normal life, a normal school, a boyfriend and a normal family. Her life at her new school, she ONLY has two friends. Because of her crazy  sister, Brianna, she can’t have a normal family. Because of a girl named Mackenzie at her new school, she can’t have a normal school (or a boyfriend) Pore NikkiL.  Will she solve her problems?

I liked this book because it’s a very funny book.   For example, in one silly picture in the book she finds a boy she loves and the picture shows her literally falling. I recommend this for girls everywhere.

I would give this book 5 stars! The reason why I would give this book 5 stars is because it kinda like my big sister.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

Tales of A Fourth Grade Nothing is about a fourth grader named Peter and his younger brother, Fudge. Fudge always gets into Peter’s stuff, and his mom doesn’t care, and she’s always focusing on Fudge. Will Peter ever get any attention?
I liked this book because it was really funny. For example, when Fudge wouldn’t eat his cereal, his dad said … “eat it or wear it,” and then he dumped the cereal on Fudge’s head! I think this book is funny when Fudge and Peter and Peter’s friend went to the park with Fudge and was not watching him and Fudge went to play and jumped off the side of the slide and his two  teeth was gone when they looked at him. When Fudge drew all over Peter’s project, he also he had a birthday and he had some friends that didn’t like to share. This is the funniest book I have read. It makes you wonder what is going to happen next. That’s why I really like this book.
I give it five paws!

The Secret Series

The secret series is very good because of a lot of reason. The series has five books each with a crazy adventure. The main characters are Cassandra and Max-Ernest. They are 12 years old and try to capture the evil villains and vampires named Dr. L and Ms. Mavis who try to kidnap them. In the first book they go after a magician.

In the second book they go after a two foot tall monster. In the third book they chase an evil chocolate cook, they get taught how to play violin, and Cassandra’s mom gets kidnapped. What will happen next in the last two books?

I really liked this series. There is a mystery in every book. For example, in the second book Cassandra discovers a big family secret. The Secret Series is really good!

I give this book 5 paws and I just love!

Holes

In this book there is a famous baseball player that donated some shoes to charity. A kid stole the shoes, but when the police started chasing him he dropped the shoes. Stanley Yelnets just happened to be walking past when the police showed up. They thought Stanley stole the shoes, and they arrested him. He was found guilty and sent to Camp Greenlake. Stanley was forced to dig holes 7 feet deep and long. When he figures out that they are looking for something, he tries to escape. Will the group leaders find it or will Stanley?

I liked this book because I like adventure books and this is an adventure! For example, when Stanley escapes there is a lot of action. It had so much adventure; I couldn’t put the book down!

I recommend this book for people who like adventure book, and I give this book 5 paws.

Out in the Cold!

Have you ever been stuck in a cabin in the cold? Well, for Greg Heffley he has. To make matters worse, Greg’s mom places a Christmas doll on the mantle, and it scares Greg. Will the snow ever melt and let him get away from this doll?

I really liked this book because it’s really funny. An example is one time while Greg was showering, Rodrick put the Christmas doll in the bathroom and when Greg got out it scared him half to death. I laughed my head off.
If you are looking to laugh, you should read this book. I give it 4 paws.

Harry Potter Full of Twists and Turns!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the 3rd book in the series. The book is about a murderer who escaped from Azkaban (wizard jail). His name his Sirius Black. He killed 50 Muggles (nonmagic people) and 1 wizard in one spell. One night at Hogwarts Harry, Ron, and Hermione were coming from Hagrid’s hut when a black dog attacked them. Ron was dragged down a tree. Harry and Hermione went after Ron and the black dog. Will they get there in time to save him?

I like this book because it has a lot of twists and turns. I don’t want to give anything away, but let’s just say that the reader is led to believe something that is not true. I love books that do this.

I recommend this book and give it five stars!

Underpants are Awesome!

This book is about two annoying boys, George and Harold, whose teachers don’t do anything about their behavior. They make comic books for the school, and they call themselves the “cool kids.” The teachers think they’re just two little squirts, so George and Harold aren’t allowed to make their comic books at school. In George’s backyard, they make comic superheroes, but their best super hero is Captain Underpants. Their principal does not like them because they sell those comic books, so they got punished. The boys saw an ad in the paper that said get the new hypnotism ring, so they got the ring. The next day at school, they hypnotized the principal and tricked him into thinking that he is Captain Underpants.

I liked this book because it’s enjoyable and funny. For example, the boys create fliporama pages where you flip them back and forth and it looks like they are moving. This is a great read!

This book is so funny that you will laugh your socks off. I give this book four paws.

Harry's First Adventure!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was an awesome book full of suspense, friendship and most of all, magic. Harry’s parents, Lily and James Potter, were murdered by the most powerful Dark Wizard of all, Lord Voldemort (a.k.a. He - Who – Must – Not – Be – Named). Harry had to live with his only living relatives, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon Durlsey and his cousin Dudley, without being told he was a very famous wizard. Harry was made famous because he was the only person alive to not die from the killing curse: Avada Kedavra. He goes through many trials and tribulations to find Lord Voldemort and the sorcerer’s stone. Is he going to get the stone and make it out alive, or will he die trying to obtain the sorcerer’s stone? If you want to find out for yourself, I suggest that you read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

In all, I thought Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was an awesome book. One thing that made me like this book so much to do a review is the way the author J.K. Rowling made the characters’ personalities. For example, the way how a Slytherin boy named Draco Malfoy acts toward Harry and how Harry’s friend Hermione Granger always raises her hand when an in-class question is asked. So, like I said, I really liked this book.

I give Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone a rating of five paws.

Frindle is an Okay Read ...

Frindle is a story about a boy named Nick who makes up a name for a pen. The problem is his teacher, Mrs. Granger, doesn’t seem to like it. After all, Frindle isn’t in the dictionary so it’s not a word. Will the word stay in the school, or will Mrs. Granger kill it forever?

I thought Frindle was a good book, but it was not my favorite. The reason why is because it was funny, but I’ve read funnier books before. For example, the first day Nick was in class he was trying to waste time so they wouldn’t get any homework. Then he asked a question, and the teacher made him research it, so he got double homework instead. Overall, the book was okay.

If you like funny books, I’d recommend this book. I give this book 3 paws
