A Ball of Yarn

Think about it: what if you were made of yarn?

In this game for the Nintendo Wii, you are basically a pink puffball that is called Kirby. The story begins when a sorcerer made of YARN called Yin-Yarn captures Kirby by sucking him into a MAGIC SOCK that teleports Kirby to a place called Patchland. There he meets a blue boy named Prince Fluff. Prince Fluff is native to Patchland and is trying to sew his home back together with magic yarn. Yin-Yarn stole the magic yarn from Patchland and is now attempting to take over Dreamland and turn everybody into yarn. That’s right… yarn. This is NOT weird at all… apparently.

*Spoiler Alert*
I liked Kirby’s Epic Yarn because it’s so fun. You can never lose a life; only lose beads (Patchland’s form of money). There are 9 worlds to play in, and you need all of the magic yarn to stitch together Prince Fluff’s home. Once you beat 8 bosses, you will travel through yet again another MAGIC SOCK that teleports you to Dreamland, where Yin-Yarn has turned into a yarn… well, I guess a PARADISE made of yarn for him. After you defeat the stage Dedede Castle (I prefer to call King Dedede King Fatpenguin because he’s a fat penguin), you get a Happy Bells patch (I don’t remember what it’s called; I only know it has something to do with bells) and Yin-Yarn will come out. This fight was pretty fun, but most other bosses are hard if you’re used to playing with somebody like your friend or sibling. Oh, unless you have played solo the entire game. Congrats, you have just beaten Kirby’s Epic Yarn! There are extra stages that you do not actually HAVE to play to get through that world just absolutely DIEING to be played. Those, I believe, are extra levels for more fun. There are levels like Meta Melon Isle (what?) and Battleship Halberd, but those are both in Dreamland. There are others in the worlds like Grass Land and Space Land (that sounds ridicules). You can also play hide and seek with some floating yarn thing named Zeke, who lives in a home with only two pieces of furniture in it: a flower couch and a flower clock. The weird thing is, you don’t know if Zeke is a boy or a girl, so she/he doesn’t make sense. But hey, who really cares? I certainly don’t. I just play hide and seek with Zeke. Oh, hey, that rhymed. (Zeke and seek).

So, if you like games with extremely cute characters, I give this game 5 paws. Also: I think Kirby is cuter than a kitten in a cup. He’s absolutely ADORABLE!

The Pet Store

The pet store is a cool place. When you walk in you will see the rabbits and Guinea pigs. In the middle of the store is the stuff the animals need like food, cages, and toys. If you go past the food and the other stuff for the animals there are the lizards and baby parrots. The little parrots are in cages because they can fly. If they weren’t caged they’d fly everywhere. The bigger parrots are not in cages because the employees cut the parrot’s flight feathers.

In my opinion, I think the pet store is the best place to go when you don’t have anything to do. It is a fun place to go, and you can make friends with the animals. And hopefully you have enough money to get an animal.

The bad part about the pet store is that it has a horrible smell, and they don’t have a lot of animals in the store. But the worst thing is the prices. It cost like $2500 for a Cockatoo parrot, and the cages for the animals are definitely not cheap!

If you love animals, this would be a good place for you to go. I give the pet store four paws.

Mario Kart

Mario Kart is a racing game and you can unlock faster, stronger, and acceleration cars you can also unlock new tracks depending on how good you are. In Mario Kart, you can bump into another player. You can also play with your friends and win cups together. You can also be on teams with your friends. There is a Grand Prix, there is also a time trial so if you’re a beginner you can race on the tracks by yourself or you can race against a ghost. If you lose against the ghost they won’t count it to your score. There are also missions you can complete.

I like Mario Kart because when I unlock new cars I test them out to see how good they are. If they’re not that good I won’t use them that much. Once when I was playing with my cousin I unlocked a car because I won 13 games in a row. I could play this game for hours.

I recommend this game if you like racing games, challenges, and bumping into other people. I give this game 5 paws.

Color Me Rad!

Color me rad is a 5k race (which is 3. 1 miles) with a twist. At each mile, volunteers throw liquid color or chalk coloring on the runners as they pass by. The terrain is around the Commonwealth stadium on the University of Kentucky’s campus in Lexington, KY. Many people run in this race. It starts really early, so make sure you have a good night’s rest. This race is a charity event for the Ronald McDonald house.

I love this race because I love how they throw coloring at you. If you're wearing a white shirt your shirt will be a big rainbow by the time you’re finished. Another reason I like this race is because you can have fun with your friends. Remember, there is no I in team. One last reason I like this race is because of the color me rad apparel booth. At the Commonwealth stadium, a color me rad apparel booth is set up so you can look colorful from head to toe in your color me rad gear!

One reason that I dislike the race is of the price tag to join. Make sure you sign up early, or it gets very pricey $$! Another reason I don't like the race is because of the cold weather. When I ran it was very icy. I think they should melt the ice so no one could have fallen (many people did).

I personally would give the race 4 paws because of the color apparel and because of the price and the ice! Even if you don't like to race or have never been in a race this is a very good race to do and to start off with! That is why I like and dislike the color me rad 5 k race.

Beyblade Fun!

BEYBLADE

Beyblade is game were you rip tops in a plastic arena. The Beyblade that is the last one spinning wins. There are 4 different types of Beyblades: defense, stamina, attack, and balance. There are different arena that helps different Beyblade types. For example, some beyblades are good on curved and some are good on flat. The best part is seeing them battle in the arena.

I love Beyblade a lot because it has what I like—building and fighting. For example, some Beyblades have different forms like big and small and short or tall. Some are be bulky some aren’t. You can also take apart Beyblades and put different pieces on them so there better, but sometimes it doesn’t make them better. When they clash they make clinking sound. Each Beyblade as an animal that the Beyblade gets its power from, like a Beyblade has a dragon as the Beyblade symbol. It’s a fun game to play if you are bored.

I give Beyblade 5 paws.
