Homework Kills Trees

Our elementary school keeps giving children homework thinking it helps kids learn, but what they don't know is that they're killing trees. So people are killing trees for stuff that dosen't even help kids learn. Somtimes the questions are the exact same thing we've done in class, and it seems like they are just giving us extra schoolwork. When you cut down trees, houses for animals are destroyed and sometimes birds and their eggs are killed. So stop cutting down trees, and no more homework.

Recess Rules!

I think we need more recess because after 30 minutes of playing outside kids still have too much energy. Kids also need more time to socialize and relax from learning. Also, if the teachers reward hard work with extra recess, kids try their absolute best inside of school. So I think kids need a reward after a long day of tests and quizzes.

Tintin the Dare Devil

The movie "The Adventures of TinTin" is about a 15 year-old boy who is trying to figure out the mystery of a boat called The Unicorn. TinTin is a big dare devil. He drives a plane through a hurricane, rides a motorcycle which breaks on a telephone wire while he's driving the bike! He ran in the middle of the road and almost got hit by a car. TinTin becomes unconscious and the plane propeller almost cuts his head off. But his friend is wearing a parachute that has opened and the strings get caught in the propeller and stops it from killing him.
You need to see the movie to figure out what happens at the end.

I give this movie 5 paws.

Cabin Fever strikes Gold!

Jeff Kinney's best selling series Diary of a Wimpy Kid has struck gold again. The book is called "Diary of A Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever". If you have read all of the other books in the series, I guarantee you will like this one.

Greg, the main character,  is stuck in  his home because of a blizzard that hit his town. Rodrick, Manny, and his mom are getting on his last nerve! Plus, what would be worse than spending the holidays at home when you can't get outside. I enjoyed this book a lot, and give it 5 paws.

Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is about zombies who go out and try to bite people. The people who get bit turn into zombies too. This cable television show is aired at 9:00 on Sunday nights, and will start in February. For the kids I would not watch the show. It says bad words and there is a lot of killing. I sometimes have nightmares from watching it. I would recommend this show for teenagers and up. I give the show four paws because even though its violent it is a good show.

Sweet Snow

I like snow because you can have snow ball fights, make snow angels, and create snowmen. I also like snow beacuse it's the perfect material to go sledding on. And my most favorite thing to do after a long day of playing in the snow is to get in my pajamas, warm up next to a heater, and watch TV with a cup of hot chocolate. And I hope we have snow soon. I give snow 4 paws.

Schools Need Healthier Foods

I think schools need healthier foods because it helps children to be active and to learn better. Healthier food would also change behavior. After lunch children will be full, healthy, and ready to learn, and nicer. For example eating a minimum of fruits and vegetables will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to go, while eating all the junk food you can will leave you feeling sleepy and dull. So that's why I think schools need healthier foods.
